David Paul Jones studied classical piano and composition at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama in the early 90’s and is regarded as one of Scotland’s foremost composers and musicians. Based in Edinburgh, David's music and live performances explore highly evocative and emotional soundworlds primarily for piano, the human voice and theatre.
His catalogue consists largely of soundtracks and stage performances for multi-award winning theatre productions and companies including Grid Iron, Catherine Wheels, Theatre Cryptic and National Theatre Of Scotland. His scores and publications include songs, choral works and instrumental pieces written over the last twenty years for his own solo performances and for other artists including soprano Lisa Milne, Alyth McCormack and National Youth Choir Of Scotland.
He is producer for the DPJ ensemble who feature on his album Something There recorded on Linn records.
David was awarded the prestigious 2011 Glenfiddich Spirit Of Scotland Award for music.

Glenfiddich Spirit Of Scotland Award For Music
David Paul Jones was awarded the prestigious Glenfiddich Spirit Of Scotland Award for Music announced on 29 Nov 2011. He was nominated alongside Emeli Sande, Primal Scream and Kenny Anderson (King Creosote). The award was presented by Colin MacIntyre of Mull Historical Society.
