DAVID PAUL JONES
Hello,
I am a composer, musician and music tutor based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I studied concert piano at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama in the early nineties majoring in the virtuosic piano works of Debussy and Ravel. At the same time I struck up a love affair with the beloved music of the Cocteau Twins which lead me to a dedicated career as a composer, singer as well as pianist. I have been composing, performing and teaching for over 25 years.
My work explores atmospheric and emotive soundworlds from solo piano music, songs and larger scale vocal works to soundtracks and sound designs for theatre and dance.
I collaborate with some of the finest theatre and dance companies in the UK including Grid Iron, National Theatre of Scotland, Traverse Theatre, Curious Seed and Catherine Wheels. My international work includes projects throughout Europe and further afield in China, Australia, USA, Middle East and South America.
My recorded work is featured on the Linn Records label and my projects are supported by Creative Scotland.
You'll find a full account of my work including many sound samples throughout this site.
Below you will find details of new and featured projects.
Thank you for visiting.
