Something There - inspired by the poem by Samuel Beckett - was originally a staged musical theatre piece commissioned by Cryptic Productions (Glasgow) and directed by Graham Eatough for the Tron Theatre, Glasgow in 2000. The work was  later re-structured and orchestrated for live concert performance and for the Linn recording. The album was launched with live performances by the DPJ Ensemble at the Music Hall in the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh during the 2002 Edinburgh Festival followed by  dates at the Wigmore Hall, London and The Arches, Glasgow.

DPJ Ensemble (featuring original and new members) returned to the live stage to mark the 15 yr anniversary release of the recording. Something There performed at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh on 25 November 2017.
